Shahriar Himel is a passionate entrepreneur and software engineer. He began his academic journey in Information Technology at Jahangirnagar University (IIT), where he demonstrated strong leadership and innovation skills. He founded the CAN Society, the first grassroots organization in Bangladesh dedicated to bridging the gap in cybersecurity learning and support.
In 2020, Himel and his team developed ALLY, a mobile application designed to combat rape, harassment, and mugging in Bangladesh. The app earned the Champion Award at the Software Exhibition of Asia Pacific University, Dhaka, reflecting his commitment to creating technology for social good.
Himel has been part of BigyanPriyo since 2019 as a Founding Member, contributing to its growth as a leading science communication platform. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Australia, furthering his expertise in technology and entrepreneurship.
