Shawon Mahmud is an education entrepreneur and writer from Bangladesh. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Jahangirnagar University. After gaining experience in the edtech sector and working as a freelance graphic designer, he founded BigyanPriyo to address learning gaps and inequalities in science education across Bangladesh.

With vision and determination, Shawon built a science ecosystem engaging 1.5 million Bengali-speaking learners within just one year, supported by a strong and passionate team. Remarkably, after a major cyberattack in 2021 that wiped out the platform, he rebuilt BigyanPriyo from scratch and restored it to its original position within a year.

In 2025, he began his journey as an author with the publication of his debut book on Quantum Physics at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair. His impactful contributions to science communication and education have earned him several national and international recognitions, including the prestigious Diana Award in 2024.
