Our journey began on 1st December, 2018, coinciding with Bengali scientist Kudrat E Khuda’s birthday.
Problem
In Bangladesh, nearly 90% of science students choose not to continue their studies in the science stream after higher secondary exams due to high costs, lack of awareness, and territorial inequality. Our survey found that 55% of parents in urban areas and 74% in countrysides have serious misconceptions about the purpose of studying science. Students think science is only a material to become a doctor or a top-tier engineer.
Solution
BigyanPriyo is bridging the information, inspiration, & skill gaps by creating an extensive online science-based ecosystem in the Bengali language that includes hundreds of videos, over 25,000 visual contents, thousands of myth-busting resources, 250,000 discussions and e-magazines all are completely free and designed to help people make informed decisions in daily life, society, and policy. We have partnered with over several educational institutions from marginalized communities, reaching over 15,000 impoverished students to promote science literacy and address territorial inequality. Additionally, we have partnered with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society to train at least one member from 30,000 households in basic first aid by 2030 using a VR-based evaluation process.
Impact
By tailoring science resources to be accessible at no cost for both students and parents, we have impacted nearly 1.5 million Bengali-speaking individuals from over 20+ countries. Our digital content reaches an average of 30 million people per month.

Voice Against SUPERSTITIONS & MYTH
One of our teams has actively engaged with rural communities to raise awareness against superstitions and myths. Our goal is to eliminate health risks, promote proper education, and advocate for gender equality.
Virtual First-Aid
Project Praachi offers free VR-based first aid training to students and high-risk workers in Bangladesh. We've already provided 18 hours of hands-on training to over 200 school students in Dhaka. Our mission is to secure 30,000 households by 2030, ensuring essential first-aid skills are widely accessible.
E Magazine 'Nebula'
Every year on International Mother Language Day, we publish a science-based e-magazine named 'Nebula'. Our last two issues have already been downloaded by nearly 250,000 science enthusiasts for free.
